At Luxmi Education Centre, we believe that Year 4 is the ideal stage to move from early foundation-building into more structured preparation for the 11+ exams. Having developed confidence in the basics during Year 3, pupils in Year 4 are ready to strengthen and extend their skills across English, Mathematics, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning. This year provides the essential bridge between early practice and the more intensive 11+ preparation in Year 5.

Our Year 4 courses focus on consolidating and extending core English skills through advanced comprehension, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and creative writing tasks. In Mathematics, pupils tackle more complex areas such as multiplication and division, fractions and decimals, problem-solving, and reasoning. Alongside this, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning are introduced in a more systematic way, ensuring that children become familiar with the types of questions they will encounter in the 11+.

By the end of Year 4, pupils not only build stronger subject knowledge but also develop exam techniques, logical thinking, and resilience. This carefully structured programme ensures that children enter Year 5 with the skills, confidence, and habits required to succeed in their 11+ journey.
